{February 12, 2010}   I’m in love with my Dr

I’ll admit it freely and openly, I love Dr Who.  Yep, since the restart in 2005 I have worshiped at his feet.  But, now once again the doctor must regenerate.  That in itself is fine, these things happen when you are a time lord.

these are all of the Dr's regenerations

But, why does he have to get younger and younger every time?  And why is he going to be played by such an unappealing actor?  I know that it took me some time to get used to David Tennet, but now that I have I don’t really want to see anyone else, especially not some 12 year old play play the Dr.

Case in point, these are the Dr’s that I have been used to watching.

This was the Dr. when they brought the series back to life

This is the Dr. as he has been for 3 seasons

This monstrosity is who will be playing the Dr. in the next season, if you have a heart condition or are really old, or projectile vomit, look away!

Oh ick! :(

I tried to research how the decision was made and found out a lot of unpleasant news.  Not only is David not going to be on the next season, but Russel T Davies the head writer is leaving!  Also two producers are bailing out.  I truly hope that this isn’t the beginning of the end for my beloved Dr.  But I can’t help but notice that it seems that (for lack of a better metaphor), the rats are abandoning the ship.

I see the evidence, I just don’t understand why.  If the new season is a bomb, it will leave a huge hole in the fabric of time.  Well, at least my time.  This is my favorite show and I have a horrid feeling like they are killing it.  But, I shall be ever faithful to my Dr.  as Rose,

The Dr and Rose

Martha

The Dr and Martha

and Donna

The Dr and Donna

have taught me.  I will hang with him until the end.  Unless it gets really, really awful and then I will just watch reruns and live in denial for the rest of eternity!
